MI2011winners15

One of the scariest things about going to university is that you're going from being the biggest fish in the pond of ECC to the tiniest fish in the ocean of university and employment, a long way from home, with no-one you're familiar with. Having been awarded the MI bursary, I have gained a second family who constantly want to support and encourage me to achieve my full potential, and I'm sure that I will benefit from this hugely throughout my career and life. Medicine is infamous for being a challenging and time-consuming degree, and the financial aspect of the bursary will allow me to not have to work in every waking minute of my spare time to make ends meet. That said, I think the pastoral support will help me most, hopefully leading to work experiences and getting me to think about career paths or specialties I may not have even considered before. The MI has been, and will be I'm sure, nothing short of a blessing for me.
