So who am I? I’m Jo, I’m currently studying and thoroughly enjoying my BSc Sports Therapy in Exeter.

What has the Magnolia Incentive done for me? The simple answer... loads! When looking back to the first time I met Mandy, Martin and the rest of the Magnolia Incentive panel members, I think 'wow' the scheme has had so many positive influences on my life; encouraging, inspiring and developing me as a person. The scheme has developed my skills as well as teaching me new ones, provided me with opportunities, given me support in low times, as well a friendly, supportive and motivating Magnolia family!

For my degree I am expected to complete a minimum number of hours of work placement a year. Locally I have worked placements at Exmouth Rugby Club and am currently based alongside the medial team at Exeter Chiefs. The Magnolia Incentive has made possible further placements and ongoing opportunities. The scheme has provided me with a fantastic mentor, Annalisa, who is a well known and established body worker based in London. I feel extremely lucky and privileged to work alongside Annalisa with her personal clients in her clinic and attend her training courses and workshops, free of charge, allowing me to gain not only new knowledge but additional qualifications. On top of this, through the Magnolia Incentive, Annalisa has introduced me to a Rehabilitation specialist in Twickenham.

I have been able to take back my newly learnt skills and directly apply them within my course. Annalisa is a great mentor, believes in her work and has endless relevant knowledge to aid me through my degree. She is an inspiration to me and makes me want to learn and develop my career.
 
I’m a big believer in everyone being good and talented at something. Some need more moulding and developing than others to realise their potential. in my years within the scheme I have been challenged, inspired and developed as an individual, whilst supported by a fantastic second family.
