The full impact of being sponsored by the MI has still probably not yet sunk in, it is a huge confidence boost to know that a group of very able and successful people want to invest time and money in my future and Ii feel very privileged to be part of the MI. It has allowed me the much needed financial support to attempt to bridge the gap in my sport where it starts getting expensive but you are not yet good enough to be sponsored by larger companies or receive lottery funding. I also look forward to using the contacts within the MI to help find placements in industry to improve my career opportunities. I think it is a brilliant scheme and I hope eventually i will be able to put in as much as I get out.
