The Magnolia Incentive is an educational charity, founded in 2004 by Martin Gill and Mandy Parker. The charity provides financial and pastoral assistance to Exmouth Community College pupils as they pursue their higher education studies. We believe strongly in the merits of education and the nurturing of the potential of young people to fulfil their dreams and aspirations and, ultimately, to make a difference to themselves and society.
The charity addresses the financial difficulties of studying higher education courses by providing grants of up to £5,000. In addition, we provide pastoral guidance, through a network of successful individuals, who form our mentor panel. Currently results indicate that those who have participated in the scheme have benefited greatly from their experience of working with dedicated mentors and most believe that the grade attained on completion of their course was higher than that estimated to have been achievable without the charity’s assistance.
So far the charity has provided assistance to over 25 pupils who regularly maintain contact with the charity providing another means of support to those just entering the scheme.
